Branding

As a Graphic and Web Designer, I am able to offer the whole package to clients: logo design, brand building, and web design. Below are examples of brands that I have designed, beginning with my own.

Personal Branding

For my personal brand I wanted to incorporate my style and things from my background. I wanted a mixed media collage feel with references to my culture, a geometric arabesque pattern, a pop of contrast color with roses that are evocative of religious iconography.

Rehana Restaurant

When the owners of Rehana Restaurant opened, they needed a logo, a brand, a website, and a lot of help with their menu as English is not their first language. With my background in Comms, refining their dish names and writing concise copy was as important as their website as a whole.

For the logo I needed to represent the backgrounds of both owners, Egypt and Iraq. I needed the customers to be able to identify the type of food without needing to read the name or subheading, and using the Pyramid both indicated that it was Middle-Eastern food and that it was Egyptian. I placed the Pyramid to the left of the restaurant name, where the eyes of English-speakers would land first.

For Iraq I went with another famous ancient building, the Tower of Samarra. The shape of the Tower somewhat mirrors the shape of the Pyramid and balances out the logo.

And while it is not as well known for Americans, its placement on the right-hand side of the logo means it will be seen first by Arabic-speakers who read right to left and who will recognize the monument more readily.

For the font, I used the font that the owner gave me for the name, and then found a font for the Arabic that felt visually similar to the English font, to keep the feel consistent.

For the website and branding I used the deep paprika red from the logo, parchment-like colors for the background, Arabesque patterns, and a rich dark brown color.

Expo Travel Assistant

I created a brand logo for an Egypt-based Travel Assistance company. The owner requested bright tropical colors, so I used shades of ocean blue with a pop of sunny yellow, placing the yellow lines in the logo to give the feeling of flying or movement to the logo itself.
